Platte County Commissioners Approve New Water Quality Standards
Environmental initiative aims to protect groundwater and surface water resources
The Platte County Commission adopted comprehensive new water quality standards Thursday in a unanimous vote aimed at protecting the county's groundwater and surface water resources.
The new standards establish enforceable limits on agricultural runoff, industrial discharge, and residential septic system impacts. County Health Department Director Dr. Amanda Foster said the measures reflect current best practices.
